The Channelized OC-12 PIC streamlines the provisioning of DS3 circuits by eliminating the need to pull heavy, space-consuming coax cable. Rather, circuit grooming is pushed to the edge of the access network, and DS3 customers are provisioned by turning up a logical DS3 channel. This enables service providers to scale high-speed access connections rapidly, reliably, and manageably.

The Juniper Networks Channelized Physical Interface Cards (PICs) are designed to support the aggregation of large numbers of customer connections at the edge of the network for delivery into the service provider core.
